Privacy
How we look after your information.
When you contact us, you often share personal details and sometimes your CV. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It’s written to meet the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect and why
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, what you’d like help with, your message and, if you attach it, your CV.
We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, if we work together, to provide our services to you. We don’t sell it, we don’t use it for marketing lists, and we don’t share it with employers or recruiters without your permission.

Who sees it
Your enquiry goes to Ben Shaw. If it relates to Career Transition Coaching, it may also be shared with Peter de Boer, who delivers that programme with Ben.
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and deliver messages: Cloudflare hosts the site and checks that form submissions come from a real person, and an email delivery service passes your message to our inbox. They process your information only to provide those services.

How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and CVs for as long as we need them to respond to you and provide our services. If we don’t end up working together, we delete your CV within 12 months. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.

Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form or email Ben, and we’ll respond within 20 working days.
If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
