4 week foundation

Discovery

We start by clearing away the noise and uncertainty. Using our GHMM framework, we uncover what makes you feel your Greatest, Happiest, and Most Motivated at work - the foundation for making choices you won’t regret six months down the track.

Market Outreach

Being clear on your next steps is one thing; credibility is another. We build your proposition - CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn - that are evidence-led, capability-focused, and aligned with the shift toward skills-based hiring and what recruiters and hiring managers look for today. The result is a consistent professional story that builds visibility, confidence, and credibility in the market.

Proposition Development

‘Hit send and hope for the best’ rarely works, yet most people keep doing exactly that. Instead, we help you to define your job search sandpit, research and map the nature of your target roles, and who to engage with in your network. Together, we’ll develop a tailored outreach plan: tactics, activities and actions to keep your transition focused and intentional.

Market Engagement

This is where your proposition meets the market. We help you translate it into clear messaging and questions for recruiters and hiring managers at every stage of the process - keeping what matters most to you at the forefront and ensuring your story remains consistent, persuasive, and fully under your control.

3 months of mentoring

Career moves are rarely linear, and the twists and U-turns can be overwhelming. For three months, you’ll have us on hand to assess opportunities, optimise your approach, manage recruiter/HR engagement, and prepare for interviews, while maintaining clear alignment with your GHMM goals, and putting yourself first at every step.

Who we are

We’re Peter and Ben.

When our paths first crossed in Wellington back in 2010, we realised we shared similar interests in helping people find roles that align with their values and aspirations, as well as their skills and capabilities. Over time, that shared interest has become a central pillar in our own work and businesses - Peter helping people be the best they can be at work through coaching and mentoring, Ben helping people navigate transition and position more effectively in an evolving job market.

In recent years, the job market has continued to shift. Ongoing restructures and uncertainty have become the norm, and competition for roles is at unprecedented levels. Senior leaders doing complex, demanding work are having to adapt quickly, leaving many questioning fit, balance, and future direction.

More and more people are making critical career decisions without the time or space to step back and think about what’s right for them. The result? Roles that meet a short-term need but ultimately lead to frustration, disillusionment, or burnout. We wanted to help change that.

So we teamed up to create StellarCareers - combining our recruitment and coaching experience to guide clients through a journey of reflection and market engagement. We help people get clear on what matters most and support them to move into work where they can genuinely feel their Greatest, Happiest, and Most Motivated.


Peter de Boer

I’ve led teams and businesses across both recruitment and marketing, before taking the leap into self-employment as a coach and business advisor. I developed the Greatest, Happiest, and Most Motivated (GHMM) framework, originally to facilitate the best possible career planning conversations with my teams. Over time it’s evolved into a platform that helps professionals make career moves with greater clarity and purpose.

With StellarCareers, by starting with emotions, I help people understand how they truly want to feel at work, allowing them to make fully informed and personal decisions about their next role. A role that will pass the Sunday night test!

Ben Shaw

I come from a recruitment background, and for the past decade, I’ve worked with clients across New Zealand and internationally to help them understand and navigate the job market. I create capability-focused, evidence-led CVs that show impact and relevance, and cover letters that connect motivation with the role and organisation.

Through StellarInsights, I've explored the bigger picture - researching the gaps, frustrations, and assumptions that shape hiring.

At StellarCareers, I bring those perspectives together with Peter, guiding clients through a practical journey that turns reflection into clear tactics, actions, and results.
